About the SEKE Toolkit.

The SEKE toolkit aims to help students, university academics and external organisations to design, implement and review a successful project, giving students a rewarding and fulfilling learning experience from undertaking real-world projects.
By 'project', we mean a combination of a student or group of students and their tutor working in collaboration with an external client. Through the process of creating project outputs that are beneficial to the client, students will develop the skills, confidence, and professional attributes to succeed as graduates in the workplace. Typically, a module might run two or more SEKE projects, with students working in teams for one or more organisations.
The toolkit contains 20+ tools designed to have the broadest reach to the diverse student population in UK Higher Education, informed by the CSCB research. Tools have also been designed for academics and external organisations to provide guidance, advice and tips to support all the stages of a SEKE project and to address themes common to many disciplines and subject areas.
The University of Portsmouth led the development of the tools as part of the CSCB project. The process involved staff who SEKE modules, with input from external organisations, and significant co-creation with University of Portsmouth students who have recently completed SEKE modules. In addition, workshops were held with academics and other staff across two faculties at the University of Portsmouth - the Faculty of Business and Law, and the Faculty of Creative and Cultural Industries.
